Playing a Quizzer

Choosing a Quizzer

Step 1: Choose your Quizzer type from:

  • Concept (or multiple Concepts)
  • Unit
  • Course
  • Custom (Note: Custom Quizzers can be created in the Test module)

Step 2: Select a course.

Step 3: Choose the concepts or unit from which to draw the quizzer questions.

Step 4: Choose the number of questions and question time.

Step 5: Review the Quizzer questions. Individual questions can be swapped out using the Refresh button, or use Refresh All to generate an completely new set of Quizzer questions.

Step 6: Build your quizzer.

Quizzer Lobby

Share the Join Key with your students so that they can join the Quizzer.

Keep and eye on the Player List area - student names will appear here as they join the Quizzer.

Inviting Students

Students will need the 8-character Join Key in order to join the Quizzer. This is displayed in the Lobby.

Students with an Achieve account can join by selecting Quizzer from their dashboard or main menu.

Students do not need an Achieve account to take part in a Quizzer. They can join as anonymous users by visting https://achieve.hashtag-learning.co.uk/join-quizzer or by scanning QR code below:

Anonymous users are given random usernames so that they can be identified.

Playing Quizzers

Once all of the participants have joined and can be seen in the Player List, start the Quizzer by hitting Start Quizzer. Questions are then displayed to both the teacher and the student. The teacher page also shows a timer and the number of players who have submitted an answer. Some questions will be of a multiple choice format, while others require the player to enter some text.

A question ends when one of the following scenarios occur:

  • The timer runs out
  • particpants have submitted an answer
  • The teacher hits the End Round button

At the end of each question the player is told whether or not their response was correct or not. A leaderboard is displayed on the teacher page.

Analysis

At the end of each Quizzer game the final leaderboard is shown. Selecting Analysis gives the teacher an overview of the number of correct responses for each question.
