Creating questions with the Question Editor

You can create your own assessment questions to be used as part of the Assess feature.

Step 1

Create a New Question and select the appropriate Subject/Level/Unit/Topic/Concept.

Step 2

Create the question. Questions can be either Multiple Choice or Text Entry. Questions may also include an image.

Multiple Choice Questions

Multiple choice questions can have 2, 3 or 4 possible answers.

Text Entry Questions

Text entry questions require the user to enter a short response, normally a word, short phrase or number. Up to 12 correct (acceptable) answers may be entered to cater for acceptable alternative answers that might take into account mis-spellings, acronyms, omitted units of measure, etc. When thinking about alternative acceptable answers try to allow for:

  • both numeric and word versions of numbers, eg 7 and seven
  • possible use of plurals, eg 'holiday' and 'holidays'
  • alternative use of terms and symbols, eg per cent and %
  • alternative expressions of a term or concept, eg, United States . . . . USA . . . America
  • possible hyphenation of words or terms, eg load bearing and load-bearing
  • 'Acceptable' mis-spelling of words, eg separate . . . seperate
